Commemoration of the International Quds Day in Harare

Commemoration of the International Quds Day in Harare

25 July2014

Muslims from around the world have been asked to heed the call made by the Great Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ruhollah Mousavi Khomeini (P.B.U.H) to unite and free the Palestinians from the demonic state of Israel in the occupied territories of Palestine.

The lack of unity amongst the Muslim Ummah has resulted in the continued hegemony of Israel over Palestine.

Speaking at a one day conference on International Quds Day in Harare organised by the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran held at the Al-e Mohammad Mosque in Avondale, Harare, on Friday26 July 2014, Sheikh Abdullah Makwinja, the Director of Fatima Zahra Centre, noted that disunity was the main reason why Israel cannot be driven out of Palestine.

The conference organised by the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was attend by Mr Amin Nejad, the Ambassador of Iran, Diplomatic Staff, Dr Mohsen Shojakhani, the Cultural Counsellor, Dr Hamidzadeh of the Iran Red Crescent Society Clinic, Muslims from various nations resident in Zimbabwe as well as Zimbabwean Christian and Muslim leaders.

He advocated for the total boycott of Israeli manufactured goods, noting that purchasing the goods is one way of empowering Israel to get resources to manufacture bombs and ammunition to kill and maim the children and women of Palestine.

He further urged all nations with diplomatic relations with Israel to cut them forthwith as a way of expressing displeasure over the Zionist states brutal behaviour in Gaza.

Sheikh Makwinja said that for as long as Israel exists, the Muslim world will not enjoy peace.

He added that time was now up for the world to stand up to Israel and condemn its atrocities in Palestine.

Rev. Mathias Tsine of the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe noted with concern the deafening silence from the West on the human violations in Palestine, noting that the situation in that country was a human rights issue which should be condemned by all.

He said the infrastructure in Palestine tells the total story of the suffering of the people and their abuse at the hands of the Zionist regime.

He bemoaned the stance taken by Israel of turning Christian holy sites and shrines into commercial centres of attraction as a clear disrespect of other peoples religions and a failure to coexist with them.

Speaking at the same conference, Al Hajj Abu Khalil, a prominent Lebanese businessman in Harare, said Quds day should be a reminder to the whole world of the brutality of the Zionist State towards humanity.

He quoted the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Khomeini (PBUH), who once equated Israel to a cancer that needs to be plucked out of the Middle East region, noting that it was now time the world dealt decisively with the brutal Zionist state.

He said Israel does not want any resistance to its dominance, hence the bombardments in Gaza.

Hujjatul Islam Muhammad Assadi, a visiting Iranian Cleric, said the wars being fought in the Middle East were being waged on the pretext of religion, which in fact was not the case. He said Islam is a religion that advocates for peace, and does not allow the killing of a Muslim by another Muslim.

He said those Muslims fighting against their own peers were in fact agents of the Zionist state. He expressed concerned over the silence of most Arab countries in the Middle East crisis in the face of the massive killings in Palestine.
